Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month from September through June at 1:30 p.m. at the Amador Senior Center in Jackson, 229 New York Ranch Road. The Mother Lode Rose Society is open to anyone interested in Roses. Our goal is to increase the interest in Rose growing, exhibiting, and general rose culture in the Mother Lode. You are welcome to visit a meeting or come by the Senior Center to enjoy the public Rose Garden.
Our meetings are informative and fun. In addition to being with other people who love roses, you will also learn from knowledgeable guest speakers anything that you would want to know about roses, including: the best planting and pruning techniques, the recommended ways to keep them healthy, techniques of exhibiting prize winning roses at judged shows, creating beautiful arrangements, drying and pressing roses, making potpourri and jelly.
The meetings include useful information for beginners as well as experienced Rosarians. Your membership in the Mother Lode Rose Society also includes the monthly newsletter, The Rose Hip.
Activities of the Mother Lode Rose Society are Annual judged Rose Show, Hands on Mini Workshops, Public Pruning demonstrations by Consulting Rosarians, Rose Display at the County Fair, Potluck at one of the member's Rose Garden, Christmas Party, and fund raisers from Dinners to Rummage and Plant Sale.
